Pool A looks interesting. Can Japan cause a shock again and maybe be even become the runner up? Pool D wont do the Aussies any favours, they will qualify but the next game will be hard for them. Loving pool B and pool C for the competitive games
Would have preferred Italy in our (Irish) grp, Japan on (H) soil could be a tough/wildcard game. Pool C looks hard & perhaps Pool D if a revitalised Samoa go into the mix to challenge a declining Welsh & improving Georgia
Boks through to quarter finals -only if we lose Allistar Coetzee as coach in 2017 & get Ackermann as his replacement ; otherwise we get humiliated by Namibia/Italy & NZ
No chance of AC resigning or getting fired. As with the Nat government the most NB thing in SA sport is politics. The present govt because they are predominately people of colour, can do no wrong in the eyes of the western govts, the fact that they are going against the rules of the olympic charter and are the majority, all is OK. If I was a young up and coming player like the young Sharks flyhalf I would say stuff all this stupidity, I'll serve my residence time in Europe or Aus and get selected because I'm good enough.
Exactly, I agree with what you say.
I read a couple of weeks ago in the Tokyo press that Japan coach Jamie Joseph got some coaching spies as we speak at our schools rugby weekends, wonder what they up-to. 12 May 03:16
Spinnekop, if what you say is correct, by 2025 the 'Boks will be beaten by a Saffer team of expats by almost any rugby playing country in the world. I spent nearly 20 years working in Europe. From '62 to '79, the odd Saffer played rugby (Amateur) for fun. Today it is a professional thing, play in Europe or Japan for 6/7 years, work hard, build a rep, maybe take a different nationality, play international rugby against the 'Boks and beat them. A traitor, not a damn, economic reality boet, As I hated seeing Michael Catt playing in SA for England, I hated the BS politics that drove him there. Nuff sed!!!!!!!!!! 2 Jun 19:25
Cant wait for the Boks to cause all the negative people eat their words! Not saying we will win the cup, but we will definitely be a force to recon with!
Well then, best run along to the bookies and take the 10/1 on offer for SA to win right now. Current odds are: NZL 11/10 ENG 7/2 AUS 11/2 IRE 6/1 RSA 10/1 11 May 12:47
At the moment we suck, but believe me in the next two years, Toetie (if they keep him after France) will start to reap results if he work with a certain group of players and some brilliant freak may also pop-up from out of the blue. I am positive about our boks for 2019. Rather go in as underdogs and surprise the hell out of the AB's 12 May 07:37
Eish, going on current form we lose against New Zealand, finish 2nd in pool, then lose against England in playoff who will ultimately beat the All Blacks in the final....any bets?
you guys are all negative - Cast your mind back to the last WC - we were written off once again especially against the AB and guess what ?
Firstly we should have won due to Mattfield giving the possession away in the last few minutes and secondly we only lost by 2 points!!!!
Ackerman will be S.A coach in 2 years and you will see a diff mindset
I'm not so sure "Ackers" will take the "Bok" job. He is an independent individual who works well in a "Team" environment. The "team"excludes the office staff and the political hangers-on. Eddie Jones was horrified when he was informed that a certain number of"Players of colour" HAD to be included, regardless. hence his move to England 2 Jun 19:42
