Premier League: Team of Round Six

We all knew Manchester City hammering Cardiff 5-0 was a possibility - 2.2% of brus even got it exact in our predictor game - but Burnley's 4-0 win over Bournemouth was far more unexpected with just two Superbru players nailing an exact pick! Those high-scoring victories naturally led to some of the standout attacking players scoring strongly in our fantasy games, with five of this week's top XI playing for one of those two clubs.

This week's team of top scoring players is shown below. The strong Manchester City midfield means this team was not possible to select in our 11-a-side fantasy game due to their being one too many players from last year's champions, though further information on each player and those who narrowly missed out is given beneath the graphic.

Defence

There were three goalkeepers that managed 8 points in this week's round; Petr Cech, Lukasz Fabianski and Joe Hart. Petr Cech is the man to make the graphic due to being the most popular of the three with Superbru players (though still only owned by 4%) and because of his performance being so crucial to Arsenal's win over Everton. The experienced shot stopper continues to keep Bernd Leno out of the Gunners team and prevented Everton from scoring in a game that they'll feel they could easily have won.

Fabianski and Hart are both keepers that should also be seriously considered for your teams though with Hart now the fourth highest scoring keeper in our fantasy games this season. Despite competition from Tom Heaton and Nick Pope once he returns form injury, Hart is beginning to make himself undroppable in net for Burnley while Fabianski's clean sheet against Chelsea comes as West Ham appear to be finding their form in this campaign. A large number of clean sheets in Round 6 meant there were plenty of other strong goalkeeper and defender options, with Hennessey, Dubravka, Ederson, Kepa and Alisson all ensuring their clubs didn't concede.

Alisson's clean sheet was of course also of benefit to the Liverpool back four's fantasy points though Virgil van Dijk's injury coming before the 60 minute mark was a big blow for those who own the Dutchman. Joe Gomez was the man to replace van Dijk as his starting spot was taken by Joel Matip for the game against Southampton. Matip took his chance well, scoring Liverpool's second goal to join Trent Alexander-Arnold as the Reds' representatives in this TOTR. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the other defender who makes the team after scoring well yet again this weekend. The Crystal Palace defender is the tenth highest scoring fantasy defender at Superbru and picked up an impressive number of points this week due to receiving bonus points for dribbles, tackles, and interceptions! A must-consider for your XI.

Midfield

After dominating Cardiff City on Saturday, Manchester City dominate the midfield of our TOTR too. Riyad Mahrez was the highest scoring City player despite starting on the bench as he came on to bag twice - proof that there is always reason to retain hope if one of your players is named amongst the substitutes! Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan are the other City players to have scored especially well and each of their tallies show the additional points that can be earned by teams who press their opposition aggressively. Mirroring one another's scoring actions, Silva and Gundogan picked up points for a goal, assist and completing three tackles in the game at the Cardiff City stadium.

The final member of the TOTR midfielder is Burnley winger Aaron Lennon who found the net for the first time since returning to football. Also picking up points for a goal, assist and tackles, Lennon's performance epitomised the work rate Burnley are known for in a performance that suggests the Clarets are over their slow and fatigued start to the season. Burnley players are understandably never top of the list for fantasy managers, but if you were to pick some in our 11-a-side or 5-a-side games, their next two fixtures look as good as any against Cardiff away and Huddersfield at home.

Strikers

Finally, the ideal Round 6 front line consists of a pair of Leicester forwards and Burnley's Ashley Barnes who notched twice against Bournemouth. Leicester's Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho helped each other out with a goal and an assist each against Huddersfield to hand the Foxes a 2-1 win and score highly at Superbru! Though Iheanacho has been in and out of Claude Puel's team, Jamie Vardy will be starting regular games since returning from suspension in Round 5.

A point behind Iheanacho with 9, Harry Kane was the next best forward you could have had and the man who would complete this TOTR if it was to abide by our 11-a-side fantasy rules in place of Silva or Gundogan. Though the England captain has been criticised a fair amount during Spurs' slump in the weeks before their win over Brighton on Saturday, his goal in this round was his third in six league games this season and Tottenham face Huddersfield and Cardiff next. As with all star players in the league's 'big teams' though, Champions League action is something to consider with Spurs facing Barcelona between those two favourable fixtures.

Let us know in the comments how you got on in each of our fantasy games during this past weekend! The upcoming rounds of 5-a-side fantasy look challenging with Cardiff vs. Burnley the only fixture on Sunday and Bournemouth vs. Crystal Palace taking place on Monday night.

Picking Man City players is a total lottery these days, even more than last season. It totally stuffed both my fantasy teams. I used up time switching out Mendy (injured) & Aguero (rumoured to be benched as he was in Europe). By the time I got around to doing my 5-a-sides with 3 minutes to go the site went very slow and even frozen for about a minute at 12.27 pm Sat. I lost about 15 points as I could not scroll properly and just clicked madly. So give yourself at least 5 minutes leeway for doing all picks. There are more Brus playing than ever before and more late pickers it seems, slowing the site. My Full Fantasy saw many 'Lucky Pickers' escape disaster as Aquero did start and many had made him Captain! Earning them 16 when it was 50/50 he might havve been a late sub and got only 2 x1.

My extra research has been tripping me up lately. Same in the Rugby where Folau's subs got many lucky points compared to carefully chosen late replacements. So many 'casual' pickers positions are a
