Premier League: Team of Round 15

Round 15 of the Premier League was the first round since 2010 that saw all 20 teams score a goal! No clean sheets is bad news for fantasy (and likely predictor) Superbru players, but that stat does of course mean their were plenty of attacking returns to be had while defender points weren't impossible since a few names contributed with said attacking returns.

Here is the Team of Round 15 at Superbru which features an XI that was possible to select in our 11-a-side game. Bournemouth and West Ham are the two most represented clubs thanks to their wins over Huddersfield and Cardiff respectively.

Defence

There was only one goalkeeper that could have got you more than four points in this round of our fantasy game (and therefore either of our midweek 5-a-side fantasy rounds), and that man was Lukasz Fabianski. Despite conceding once, Fabianski made an important penalty save to keep his team at 0-0 before they went on to win.

The TOTR back three of Mustafi, Kongolo and Doherty were the only three defenders to manage six points in Round 15. Mustafi and Kongolo both found the net - the former was helped significantly by a surprising error from David de Gea - while Doherty created an assist and made three interceptions in Wolves' fantastic comeback and victory against Chelsea at Molineux. The wing-back is already in 16% of Superbru teams and as a guaranteed starter barring injury, looks a strong pick for Wolves' next game against Newcastle. Mustafi and Kongolo will be coming up against one another in Round 16.

Midfield

There's a strong midfield four in this week's TOTR thanks to the points obtained by wingers Ryan Fraser and Riyad Mahrez (both managed a goal and an assist), a second goal in as many rounds for Chelsea's Ruben Loftus-Cheek and a great all-round performance from Ander Herrera against Arsenal.

Mahrez was selected by 7% of brus who likely spotted that he was due a start with Sterling predictably rested for Manchester City's game against Chelsea on Saturday. Far more of you (76%) opted for Sane as your wide midfield pick on Tuesday who was also a strong selection, returning 8 points to match Herrera's tally. Bournemouth's Fraser is known to be a great fantasy option as a key man in the Cherries' attacking style of play. The Englishman is probably a better pick in our 11-a-side game than any of the other midfielders in this TOTR because of his role as a sure starter for Bournemouth.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has certainly taken his chances in the last few days by scoring against both Fulham and now Wolves but is still likely to be beneath Kovacic in the pecking order for big games such as Manchester City on Saturday. Herrera's performance against Arsenal was a fantastic one with six interceptions, five tackles and an assist, though the constant rotation Mourinho has shown as he looks to get things back on track at United means any player at the club still remains a risky fantasy pick.

Strikers

Finally, a very high-scoring front three in this Round 15 XI features known star fantasy performers Callum Wilson and Harry Kane (not much new to say there!) alongside forgotten man Lucas Perez who scored twice after coming off the bench for West Ham.

With Javier Hernandez scoring strongly for West Ham in Round 14, and Lucas Perez following him up in Round 15, it seems nailed on that Andy Carroll will be putting in a super performance against Palace on Saturday. Joking aside, this is a very good time to select Hammers' players given their upcoming fixtures. Also, main striker Marko Arnautovic is now set for a fairly long spell on the sidelines so one of the aforementioned strikers in this paragraph will be leading the line!

Premier League ideal 5-a-side teams by round this weekend:

Tuesday: Fabianski, Kongolo, Doucoure, Mahrez, Perez (44 points)
Wednesday: Schmeichel, Doherty/Mustafi, Loftus-Cheek, 7 point players, Kane (36 points)

Feel free to let me know how you got on in each of our fantasy games this past weekend in the comments. We don't have to wait long for even more Premier League football with the action resuming on Saturday at 12:30 local time with Bournemouth vs. Liverpool.
