Premier League Round 27 Predictions!
We've had a 10-day gap since there was last any Premier League football and it feels like even longer given the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup rounds that have taken place since. We're left with a challenging situation to come back to at Superbru as there is a reduced round of games this weekend due to the League Cup final before another full round of fixtures in midweek.
This means Superbru fantasy management is made a little tricky whilst the predictor is also complicated by gauging how those that have been involved in FA Cup/European action will fare in comparison to other teams that have been away on training camps or taking the opportunity for a greater rest period.
These factors all add to the fun and games of course, here are my picks for Round 27! Let me know which of them I've got wrong in the comments as usual.
Both teams have the tools to hurt one another so I expect goals but I'm sitting on the fence as I'm not sure either side would be too unhappy with a point - Liverpool would go top of the Premier League while Man Utd would still have put a dent in their rivals' title hopes while avoiding defeat in a game that could seriously harm their momentum in gaining a top four spot. I think Solskjaer will know United are far better placed than Chelsea or Arsenal for that fourth spot now given the pair's Europa League involvement and lack of form. They certainly aren't in a position where they need to go all out at Liverpool in the dying stages and risk losing the points if this game is level late on while Liverpool know that City still have to go to Old Trafford. Prediction: Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool

Cardiff vs. Watford
Both of these teams come into this game off the back of some impressive results and it's one of a few very evenly balanced clashes in Round 27. Watford are the better side on paper and I'm siding with them as a result but it certainly won't be easy under the Friday night lights in Cardiff. Roberto Pereyra is expected to be back for the Hornets which is important and I feel that if Watford have gone unbeaten at Brighton, Bournemouth, Palace and West Ham in the past couple of months, they should be OK here. Prediction: Cardiff 1-2 WatfordWest Ham vs. Fulham
West Ham haven't won in five which is a concern but you have to favour them over Fulham who still haven't won away all season. Pellegrini has said that both Nasri and Lanzini could be back involved with the latter especially significant given how long he's been out. If Lanzini can get back to the level he was at prior to his injury, that's a huge boost for West Ham going into the run-in. Regardless of whether or not he's able to feature in this game, the hosts should have too much. Prediction: West Ham 3-1 FulhamBurnley vs. Tottenham
I've been really impressed with Burnley and their seven-match unbeaten run but Tottenham have been even more impressive recently given the squad issues they've had. Yes they were knocked out of both cup competitions pretty sharpish after Kane's injury, but to go on and maintain their place on the Premier League table and batter Dortmund in the Champions League was a strong response without both their best player and Dele Alli. Kane is likely to be back for this game and I expect Spurs to continue their good run. Prediction: Burnley 0-2 TottenhamBournemouth vs. Wolves
This could be any score really - I find Wolves' games really hard to predict. They've won more than they've lost this season but games such as their last against Newcastle are the fixtures you back them to win and they come away with a point which they were arguably pretty lucky to get. Bournemouth are so much better at home than they are away and the only teams to have beaten them at the Vitality in the league are Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool. Even without Brooks and Wilson, I have a feeling Howe's side can win this game especially after the rest they had while Wolves were grinding out a win over Bristol City in the FA Cup. Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 WolvesNewcastle vs. Huddersfield
As I mentioned when discussing Wolves, Newcastle were unlucky at Molineux and you have to back them here over Huddersfield. The Terriers are well short of Premier League quality and it's looking certain to be a painful couple of months before relegation is confirmed. Newcastle have a nice little run of games coming up and Benitez will know this is their chance to get points in the bag before the run-in which often sees funny things happen at the bottom of the table. Prediction: Newcastle 2-0 HuddersfieldLeicester vs. Crystal Palace
Most will probably pick Leicester here despite their poor home form but I'm a little torn given that they haven't won at the King Power since Boxing Day. Palace have been impressive in recent weeks and I feel this may be one to risk on a little and go with a draw. You rarely see the Eagles lose by more than a goal so they should certainly be competitive and it's unlikely they will offer Vardy and co. the high line they enjoy playing against to get in behind. Prediction: Leicester 1-1 Crystal PalaceArsenal vs. Southampton
This will be a grind for Arsenal but I expect them find three points. You have to give Southampton the goal that almost all teams manage to get at the Emirates but the Gunners should score more - they have a great record in this particular home fixture. Though there is a slight issue of fixture congestion across the next week for Unai Emery, all three games are at home so there shouldn't be too much of an impact. Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 SouthamptonManchester United vs. Liverpool
What a huge match this is! Liverpool aren't in the form they were in earlier in the season but still look very capable of scoring goals while Manchester United have bounced back immediately from their only loss under OGS and will be absolutely desperate to win this game. Old Trafford should be rocking and it's hard to pick a winner but I'd be surprised and very impressed to see Liverpool take all three points. I think Liverpool will prevail 1-2.
Wolves should also be able to overcome Bournemouth and I see Cardiff and Watford sharing the spoils (1-1). However, the rest we seem to be having the same opinions and good luck to all!!
