Premier League Predictions: Round 10
The average round I had in Round 9 was perhaps made slightly better than average with an Exact at the last as Wolves grabbed an equaliser to draw 1-1 with Southampton. Big thanks to Pedro Neto for that.
This week's round isn't the easiest but we are becoming quite familiar with each team's strengths and weaknesses so let's hope things continue to play out relatively predictably as they have been in the last few rounds compared to the horrible opening few!
Here are my Round 10 picks. Let me know where I've gone wrong in the comments.
Good luck to all with your predictions in Round 10!

Crystal Palace vs. Newcastle
A pretty nasty start this, both for predictor players and for people just hoping for an entertaining Friday night game. It sounds like Zaha will still be out for Palace and Newcastle have a few missing with Covid (not sure who) but Callum Wilson is back. The Wilson news makes me slightly more tempted to pick Newcastle but they were horrendous against Chelsea last week and winning at Selhurst Park isn't easy so I'm going with a draw for this one. Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 NewcastleBrighton vs. Liverpool
Brighton finally managed a win last week once I'd given up on them but it's still highly unlikely they'll get a result against Liverpool. The Reds were great against Leicester despite their missing players and I'm choosing to ignore their Champions League defeat. The Historic Results tab on the picks page tells you all you need to know here. Prediction: Brighton 1-3 LiverpoolManchester City vs. Burnley
People are understandably starting to really analyse what's going wrong for Manchester City now after that Tottenham defeat. I'm annoyed with myself for not picking Spurs rather than the draw because it was quite easy to picture the game playing out that way - it's not unlucky for City and Guardiola when they've been done the same way twice before at that stadium. Many have pointed out that City no longer hit the byline with their wide players and ping balls across the box and I think the reason for that is because Guardiola is trying so hard to guard against being countered so he has his wingers more central rather than hugging the touchline. The result is that City have stopped scoring goals but this is a perfect game to try and change tactics. Burnley aren't really a counter threat and City always batter them at home. Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 BurnleyEverton vs. Leeds
I'm playing safe and backing Everton to win but don't blame anyone picking a draw/Leeds because Everton have been unconvincing and are now missing Digne too. Leeds should have won last week despite Arsenal defending quite well once down to 10-men and were beaten 4-1 at Palace in their most recent away game. I'm not sure Calvert-Lewin's scoring rate is going to slow anytime soon and Richarlison's return made a big difference last week as expected. Prediction: Everton 3-2 LeedsWest Brom vs. Sheffield United
This may not be the most attractive game on paper, but it should be very interesting because it's just so important for both teams. West Brom and Sheffield United are both still looking for a first win of the season and I think fans will start to turn on either team that fails to win this game. It's tempting to pick a draw but surely with both sides going for the win we'll see someone snatch the points and I think West Brom are the more likely with home advantage. The Baggies have been very unlucky in their last two matches against strong opposition in Spurs and Man. United. Prediction: West Brom 2-1 Sheffield UnitedSouthampton vs. Manchester United
I think team news is quite important before confirming your pick for this match. Southampton, as I say every week, are really good and that doesn't change just because Ings is out even though their conversion rate will likely drop a bit. United were very unconvincing against last week but I feel like the selection we saw from Solskjaer in midweek with Cavani up top and van de Beek in midfield definitely improves them. I'm going for a narrow United win if he sticks with that 4-3-3 but will probably pick a draw if we see a double pivot return with McTominay/Matic instead of van de Beek. Prediction: Southampton 1-2 Manchester UnitedChelsea vs. Tottenham
A big one! Both teams are in great form and whilst Spurs edged a penalty shootout earlier in the season, I think home advantage and the fact Lampard is 2/2 over Mourinho in the Premier League has me picking Chelsea. We all know how Spurs will play, with Kane dropping back to receive the ball before doing something magic to setup a chance as he did vs. City and many others. That doesn't mean it's easy to stop (far from it!), but I think Chelsea are relatively well equipped to do so with Kante on Kane and their 8's pressing Sissoko and Hojbjerg. Chelsea are scoring far more goals than City have been so you'd expect them to find the net and it won't be easy for Tottenham to respond given the reasons I've outlined and the home side's general defensive assurance since Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy have arrived. Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 TottenhamArsenal vs. Wolves
Arsenal are maybe still slight favourites here but they're just not scoring any goals so it's hard to back them to win! It sounds like Partey will still be out as well which is a blow so I'm going for a draw. Wolves don't tend to feature in many goal fests themselves and are very difficult to beat. Prediction: Arsenal 1-1 WolvesLeicester vs. Fulham
Despite many, including myself, thinking they could compete with Liverpool last week, Leicester failed quite badly at Anfield but this should be a game to get them back on track. Fulham probably aren't strong enough defensively to cope with Vardy and need to play with much more expression going forward. They're also probably the only side in the league that won't want a penalty! Prediction: Leicester 2-0 FulhamWest Ham vs. Aston Villa
I've no idea who will win this one so I'm going for a draw. Despite both teams having a pretty good season so far, I still don't really trust either of them when making picks. I feel like this is one of those matches that will split the Superbru community very evenly so the result could be very influential on leaderboards! Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Aston VillaGood luck to all with your predictions in Round 10!
