Premier League Fantasy Football Tips: Round Nine

Premier League football is back following the October international break and the Round 9 action will be spread across three days with 8 fixtures on Saturday, Man Utd vs. Liverpool on Sunday and Sheffield Utd vs. Arsenal on Monday.

Using the average taken from the thousands of picks to have been made in our main game - the Premier League Predictor - we're able to provide you with a 'predicted goals' tally for each team in every round of the competition and we believe this can come in handy when choosing between certain players for your fantasy points. Here's how the data is looking ahead of this weekend.

Round Nine: Predicted Goals (PG)

Despite being shocked by Wolves in the last round, Manchester City remain at the top of our PG chart this week though it's important to note that their tally of 2.69 is considerably lower than usual. Pep Guardiola's team travel to Crystal Palace who are unbeaten at home so far this season. Chelsea have the second highest PG tally this week as they face Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge. Frank Lampard's side are also the second most likely team to keep a clean sheet according to our data, behind Tottenham who face Watford at home - Watford are yet to win a PL match this season.

As the table below shows, Bournemouth, Leicester, Liverpool and Arsenal are the other teams that are expected to pick up fairly comfortable wins this weekend. Everton vs. West Ham looks to be the toughest match to call in this round meaning it's perhaps wise to avoid defenders from either side in your fantasy team.

Round Nine: Players to Consider

With the above data and notes in mind, here are my tips for this weekend's action. I'm backing Chelsea and Bournemouth to score goals in Round 9 while my third pick is an Aston Villa midfielder who has enjoyed a fine start to the season and is coming off a very good international break.

Willian
With Hudson-Odoi, Pedro, Christian Pulisic and even Mason Mount all options on the Chelsea flanks as well as Willian, it was unknown how much the Brazilian would feature this season but his recent form has received heavy praise from Frank Lampard. Willian is picking up attacking returns, has been playing consistently and could well continue his fine run against Newcastle on Saturday.

Callum Wilson
Callum Wilson is Bournemouth's top scorer so far this season with 5 and this week he's up against Norwich who have conceded more goals than any other team in the division so far this season. The Cherries have three more winnable games coming up after this one so Wilson is well worth considering for your full fantasy team as well as Saturday's 5-a-side round.

John McGinn
McGinn has already managed three goals from midfield so far this season for Villa and certainly continued his form during the international break with a hat-trick for Scotland (admittedly it was against San Marino). After a 5-1 win at Norwich last time out, Villa should have plenty of confidence going into their game against Brighton which may well be tight, but should see goals.

Best of luck to you all with your fantasy teams this weekend.
