Whether or not Vettel deserved the penalty is subject to much debate and the events that transpired post-race highlighted that. However, what remains is another mistake from the German driver handed Hamilton the win, extending the Brits lead in the standings.

Further down Leclerc secured his second podium of the season for Ferrari, with Bottas in behind - who claimed the fastest lap point. It was a good race for Renault as their drivers finished 6th and 7th, whilst home favourite Stroll finished in a solid 9th place for Racing Point. Hamilton now has a 29 point lead in the standings, an ominous sign for the rest of the field.

French GP

Last year saw the return of the French GP to the calendar. Hamilton won the race, which saw another incident involving Vettel into turn 1 of the opening lap. Verstappen and Raikkonen claimed the last two spots on the podium, as Vettel had to settle for 5th. The question this year is can anyone catch Hamilton and start closing that gap from this race onwards?

My podium prediction - 1. Hamilton, 2. Bottas, 3. Leclerc
