Currie Cup: Round 11 Predictions

Of the two 50/50 picks last week, I managed a 50% success rate, picking the Lions to beat the Cheetahs but not expecting the Sharks to triumph against the Bulls. I would have settled for that draw, where hardly anyone gets points.

This week there are two picks to make, and one of them is very tough indeed.

Here are my Currie Cup predictions for Round 11.

Pumas v Cheetahs

This looks the more straightforward pick of the weekend, although the Cheetahs have made several changes including at fly-half where Frans Steyn replaces Tiaan Schoeman. They still look like the stronger team to me, but it might not be too big a thrashing. Cheetahs by 9

Lions v Sharks

This is a great fixture and very close to call. The hosts are unchanged, whilst the Sharks have added bulk to their pack in an attempt to outmuscle the Lions up front. Home advantage is tipping me towards the Lions, although their recent record against the Sharks is poor. Lions by 2

16,057 caps
Very difficult to beat the Pumas in Nelspruit or the Lions in Jozi, Pumas & Lions by six

Cheetahs comfortably by 17 and Sharks to best Lions by around 6.

Yip have had some close calls and I’m not sure if Steyn will make a difference at 10 so Pumas by 5 and of course the Sharks by 5 Go Sharks!!!!

I see the Sharks supporters are betting with their hearts, great backs lads, but will be useless without the ball ????
