Anton wins R5,000 with incredible Super Rugby picks

We're stoked to announce that Chuck "Anton" Norris (a.k.a. Anton de Beer) is the first winner of our Super Rugby Predictor R5,000 cash jackpot prize (that's $500 if you're based in Australia or New Zealand).

The prize is up for grabs if your picks earn a full house of Win Points and Margin Points in any Super Rugby round with four or more matches. If there are ties, then the player with the lowest Total Distance from Margin wins the cash. In Round 5 of Super Rugby, 24 players qualified, with Anton winning thanks to his astonishing TDM of just 10 points (8 of which were in two matches).

Tough to read through the blur of tears, right? But yes, you're seeing it correctly: he picked half the matches spot on, two out by just 1 point, and then - relative to the rest of the round - absolutely blew out with being out by 5 and 3 in the remaining two.

We caught up with Anton to congratulate him on the win. He said: "It was certainly awesome getting the picks right on the weekend and wish I could take the credit but it really was a lot of luck and obviously a bit of guidance from Chuck. Like Chuck said "He doesn't predict the scores, he decides them'... lol."

Spare a thought for Marius van Lamp, who came in with a TDM of 14 - just 5 away from taking the prize. Marius has picked the last 24 winners correctly and last got an outcome wrong in the neolithic era of Round 2. And there I was feeling so smug about my solitary Grand Slam Point last week.
