The Superbru standings for Rugby World Cup 2019 are now final, and it's time to congratulate your pool champions and make gentle, understanding fun of your wooden spooners.

The Springboks triumphed on the pitches of Japan, but who owned the virtual fields of cyberspace?

13,307,549 picks were made in the Predictor game and navigating his way to the top of the pile to become our Global Champion with 59.5 points* was Wart (Stuart Burgess), a Uruguay-supporting, 10,000-cap Superbru veteran from the UK. Second place went to Ant Whitfield and third to Nadz (Nadia Nagel), both from South Africa. Well done all!

In a lesser-known Superbru feature, we track the average performance of pools with 5 or more players. Our best-performing pool was the Pieterse Peanuts, run by the valiant captain HeWho. The Peanuts racked up an average score of 52.70 points, just edging Potch / Pretoria (captained by Hannaspret) on 52.50. To the Peanuts (Christo, Darren, Melissa, Jason and Jaco), well done!

We also keep an eye on the performance of each team's fans, as dictated by average scores in the team fan pools. South African fans topped the tournament with 41.20 points (though if we're honest, a lot of that will be down to heart-over-head picks for the final). Namibia and Georgia took silver and gold, followed by New Zealand, Australia and England.

Rugby World Cup Fantasy

Topping the Global Leaderboard in our fantasy game with 1,661.5 points, 46 tries and nearly a 100 point lead over the next best competitor was Sikzel (Sikelela Zelanga) from South Africa. Excellent work on this spectacular performance, Sikzel! The fantasy silver went to Dario Ciacchini from Italy and bronze to Courtney Walton, an English fan based in Australia.

Rugby World Cup Daily Fantasy

In our quick-fire Daily Fantasy game, Georgeous (Jorge Garcia from Spain) topped the standings with 2,050 and 69 tries. Jorge narrowly beat Joe Hiegel from the US, a Superbru stalwart approaching his 20,000th cap, and Basman (Tony Hingin) from New Zealand.
