Rules
Submission of predictions
- Players may submit their prediction for a Air NZ Cup game at any time up until the kick-off of the match. However, it is generally advised that predictions be submitted a minimum of a few hours before the listed kick-off time.
- The submission of predictions is final and predictions may not be changed after being lodged in the game database.
- The Air NZ Cup schedule stored in the application is that which has been officially released as the fixtures list prior to the start of the tournament.
- It is possible that the kick-off time of a game may change. Nevado Ltd will make best attempts to make sure that any changes are noted in the game database, but under no circumstances does it guarantee that the kick-off times listed are correct.
- If for any reason players are unable to submit their predictions (e.g. server malfunction, client-side malfunction, incorrectly listed kick-off time) they may submit their predictions by email instead to admin@superbru.com. These must be in a format that advises the game in question, the predicted winning team (or draw) and the predicted winning margin. The timestamp of the email will be checked to confirm the validity of the predictions (they must have been sent before kick-off of the game(s) in question). The email may not be attended to immediately but if it is valid it will be entered and scoring retrospectively adjusted.
- If a player does not make a prediction through omission on his or her own part, he or she will qualify for a Default Pick in the first 7 instances of not making predictions. A Default Pick assumes the home team to win without a specification of margin, and qualifies the player only for Win Points (no Margin Points, Bonus Points or Grand Slam Points). After the player has used up his or her ten Default Picks no Default Picks will be made and no points will be scored by the player unless real predictions are made.
Scoring
- The finality of scoring is totally at the discretion of Nevado Ltd.
- Scoring may be changed at any time by Nevado Ltd without exception. Examples of where this may be necessary include the correction of an incorrect score submission and the updating of scores to reflect the input of players' predictions that were submitted by email and only loaded some time later.
- Several categories of points are on offer in the gaming model. Please see the scoring system for detail.
- Players' total scores from each game are fed into the pool and global leaderboards. The pool leaderboard features only the members of the pool in question, and takes into account the Bonus Point. The global leaderboard features the entire playing community and does not take the Bonus Point into account.
Reminders
- We will make best efforts to send out a reminder to you to make your predictions for each round, but we cannot under any circumstance guarantee that reminders will be sent and successfully received.
- If for any reason you do not receive a reminder and miss a prediction as a consequence, we will offer no recourse: the responsibility to make predictions is yours, and the reminder is only a courtesy.
Conduct
- All players are kindly requested to adhere to the spirit of the game, which is one of lively but polite, sports-loving, intellectual debate.
- In the BanterBoards and other public message systems on the site, no hate speech, racism, homophobia, profanity, or inciteful speech will be tolerated.
- The SuperBru Administration Team does not actively monitor the content of BanterBoard posts. If you are offended by someone else's post, you may request through the contact us tool that the Administration Team investigates the offending message(s).
- If the SuperBru Administration Team believes a reported post is not in the spirit of SuperBru, it will issue a warning to the offending player.
- Any player who persists in the behaviour identified in (2) above after receiving an official warning will be banned from using the public messaging systems.
- Bannings are totally at the discretion of the SuperBru Air NZ Cup administrators.
- You are free to make any statement you wish in the private messaging system, BruMail.
- Any player may elect to ban any other player from sending him or her BruMail. This is totally at the discretion of the player, and he or she may unban the offending player at any further point.
- The SuperBru Administration Team will not take any action against players writing offensive material in BruMail.
- The contents of BruMail messages will never be revealed to other players unless by choice; however the SuperBru Air NZ Cup adminstration team reserves the right to read them.
Pool management
- There are two types of SuperBru Air NZ Cup pools: public pools, created automatically as players join up, and private pools, set up by players.
- A private pool's captain has responsibility for that pool. He or she may control its size, decide whom to admit and whom to reject, and do anything else within the powers afforded to him or her by the site's functionality.
- The SuperBru Air NZ Cup administrators may overrule any decision of a private pool captain should it see fit.
- A player may choose to join a different pool at his or her own discretion.
- If a player elects to join a public pool, he or she will be accepted automatically as long as the pool size is currently no greater than 22 players.
- If a player elects to join a private pool, his or her application will be presented to the captain of that pool. The captain may decide to accept or reject the application.
- Inter-pool movements before the kick-off of the first game suffer no penalty.
- Inter-pool movements after kick-off of the first game will come with the penalty of losing any Bonus Points earned thus far in the tournament.
These rules may be augmented at any time by Nevado Ltd.
In the event of any dispute regarding the Rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to the Competition, the decision of Nevado Ltd shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
